Arawa Town

Arawa was a town created by BCL and the PNG administration to house and support the workers (and their families) and all those associated with the Panguna mine and government services. Here are picture sequences to display how the town came together and what happened to it. To start Building & Aftermath sections press the play buttons at the pictures BRH corner

Building the town, it started of as a plantation.
Arawa Town before 1989
The aftermath, most public building burnt or roofless, then some rebuilding
